Threads may be used as an alternative to standard face lift, provided that the skin under the face and/or the neck is not too loose. Such treatment is therefore appropriate for people aged 30 to 60.
The threads that were originally used (Aptos, etc.) were rigid and brittle.
Now we use elastic threads that adapt to face expressions without breaking.
• Procedure
This operation is performed under local anaesthetic. Your surgeon uses a thin needle to insert suture threads with conical barbs that anchor the skin to the underlying tissues. The skin is then lifted upwards (or backwards in case of neck treatment) in order to restore original facial curves and reduce nasolabial folds.
The operation takes about half an hour. Scars are almost invisible and recovery is very fast.
